LOS ANGELES — On Monday, the Los Angeles Football Club will be the first MLS club to play home games against their hometown rivals in 2020.
Los Angeles FC are set to play a match against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, May 11, in what will be a homecoming for both clubs.
The club’s inaugural season will begin with the club’s match against the Quakes at StubHub Center on June 23.LAFC, currently tied for third in the West with a 2-0-0 record, have been in the MLS Cup Playoffs once in the past two years.
In that span, the club has played its final four matches at Stubhub Center, including a 2–0 win over the Seattle Sounders on June 18, before winning the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at home.
